I had taken earlier 10 tablets of dakson oz after my tooth extraction at India. it had worked excellent. Now I am at USA. I am having slight toothache with swelling of nearby gum region, allergic itching patches like urticaria. Can i take that previous antibiotic ?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . Some time food debris get stuck at extraction site or in socket and cause infection . The swelling and red patches you mention in query are result of infection .

I would suggest you to take antibiotics you have for atleast 3 days , do warm saline rinses several times a day and do betadine gargles also , maintain proper oral hygiene and avoid eating from that side for 2-3 days .

I f condition doesn't get better in 3 days or get worse then consult dentist for proper examination . Doctor may order X-ray for checking if there is any chip of root left in socket that cause infection or something else and treat it .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
