Can I Stop Taking Salazopyrin Without Weaning Off The Medicine Slowly?
Are you able to stop taking salazopyrin without weaning off the med slowly. Been taking this med about 10 yrs and have been advised to stop taking it now. Chohns has been controlled for about 6 yrs. don t understand why they need to adjust eds when everything is controlled and working well
Salazopyrine is recommended the first-line drug for control of Crohn's disease. However, if your disease is controlled well for 6 years then is not a bad idea to stop the drug as sometimes you may not need it at all.
So you can give it a try. And this does not need to be tapered off necessarily though it may be better stopped by slowly reducing the dose it is not mandatory.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
