Can I Play Basket Ball Despite Having Osgood–Schlatter Disease?

I have osgood schlatters disease under my right knee. It hurts really bad when I run, jump, go up stairs, or even when I walk fast. I tried a patellar strap, but it only lessens the pain slightly. Should I do basketball in a couple days? If the answer is no, then why? Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You should avoid playing because treatment of disease is rest to the part and if rest will not be provided it will not heal. Analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief can be taken. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
