Can I Have 25mg Of Promethazine And 7.5mg Of Lortab For Achilles Tendon?

I have a ruptured Achilles tendon and had an operation on the seventh of this month. my doctor prescribe 7.5-325 mg of lortab and I have the generic version hydroco/acetamin. I only take them to go to sleep. My doctor also gave me promethazine 25 mg to take with the lortab to help me sleep. Tonight I took one promethazine and 2 generic lortab, is that too much to overdose with?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it may cause profound sedation. Taking one tablet of promethazine along with two tablets of Lortab may caused profound drowsiness (sedation), confusion, impaired concentration, gait disturbances, falls and a high risk of injuries on the next day.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
