Can Hypothyroidism Be Cured Permanently In An 18-year-old Who Has High TSH Levels?

my name is Claudia, im 18 years old.2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidisim. My TSH was 4,20 so that is pretty high it has to be below 2.0 right? but my Free T4 is 0.82 that's normal right? My doctor said I will be taking a treatment staring Monday, im so worried now because im having dry cough, and whenever I eat its hard for me. will this be llifelong? thank you.

Hello,

It may be due to subacute thyroiditis caused by viral infection since you already having viral lower respiratory tract infection. Please repeat the test after some time. and same time with two labs. your TSH level is high so.

Need T3 , T4 and TSH level. Ultrasound thyroid. Thyroid peroxidase antibodies. Then please consult your physician/endocrinologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
