Can High SGOT And SGPT Be Due To Primolut N?

My wife had a liver transplant 18 months earlier. Her SGOT and SGPT levels have remained steady for the last 6 months. However today the levels were slightly elevated and is 58 and 78 currently. She’s on Primolute N for the last 5 days to stop her menstrual cycle as she was bleeding for the last 15 days. Could the high SGOT and SGPT levels be side effects of Primolute N ?

Thank you for posting your query.
presentation of acute "mild" hepatitis.
acute liver injury is "reversible".
it maybe caused by certain medications but its less common. Alcohol and hepatitis virus(es) are most common causes of hepatitis.

increase in the level of liver enzymes(AST,ALT) reflect an INJURY to the Liver. medically, the condition is know as "Hepatitis". it maybe caused by:
1. Virus (A, B, C, D, E) 2. Alcohol
3. "drug induced (medication)"
4. Gall bladder or common bile duct pathology
5."Fat excess"

in your case, it most likely be due to the medication but you need to visit treating physician to get advice as enzymes are MILDLY increased.
also advised to get test results for for HBsAg, anti HCV, Lipid profile.?

after obtaining results of aforementioned tests, post here or visit treating physician.
meanwhile:
advice:
- abstinence from "Alcohol and drugs"
- NO fat diet should be followed for one week
- NO red meat
- vegetables should be ingested daily
- Moreover, less activity should be carried out (no sports), REST more.
- use lemon juice (lemonade) once in a day
