Can He Start Stalopam 5 For Depression?
A boy of about 26 years is very depressed for the last two months. He refuses to go to a doctor. He is not eating very well and is very tired all the time. He is my cooks son and is very anxious about his future. Can he be given some mild antidepressant? My mother (85 years) takes stalopam 5. She was also very depressed and now is fine. Can he also start stalopam 5?

Thanks you for asking this question. I have undergone through your question. I understand your concern. First of all, diagnosis of the condition is important. In this case, counseling is equally important as medicine. Boy might recover from counseling only. So please consult any psychiatrist in your local area. Taking Stalopram 5 mg might not be beneficial. Take this medication only after suggestion by psychiatrist.
