Can Having Unprotected Sex While Having UTI Spread The Infection?

my girlfriend has a uti but we still have unprotected sex. she is using monistat 7 which is a cream used to stop the uti. im know having itching sensation in penis and also having a urge to urinate frequently. i have been drinking alot of water just incase i may have a uti as well. but i guess my question is could i contract the uti as well?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
-It seems your friend has Trichomonial infection,which is known to transmit by sexual relations.- & you have contacted it.( you should have used a condom ,when you knew that she was infected)
- The itching/ frequency of urination indicate you are infected..
- You have to take tablet flucanozole along with cream for local use. Cital liquid would relieve urinary symptoms.--please meet a doctor for clinical examination & confirm the diagnosis & also advise proper dose for you.The medicines are to be taken by both sex partners.
