Can Give An Old Female Vitco Folic Injection?
Hi, My Mother who is 70 yr old has been prescribed vitco folic acid injcetion for 5 days. She is also suffering from depression frol last couple of months. She is a vegeterian . We don't know about her Vit b12 blood levels. Can we still go ahead and give her those Vitco folic injection. If her Vit b12 blood levels are already good, will it adversely affect? She lives in India where foods may not be fortified with Vit. B12 always.

I really appreciate your concern for your mother, in case of Geriatric (Old) age group any medicine should be given with extra care if your mother ever in need of any vitamin supplements then better to give orally even would be much better to give her diet that rich in vitamins, instead of giving pharmaceutical agents, hope this information helps you, take care and have nice day.
