Can Fever In The Evening In Child Be A Rat Fever?

hi doctor my babyfalling fever for past 6 days fever starts heavily in eve after 7 pm it will go upto 102.5-103 after giving cold towl whipping and p250 medicine its gradually coming down to 99.2-99.8 we taken blood test that shows all normall and dr says he has a doubt on report and ask as to take second. in that blood palettels is 210000 so he said no tengu and ask as to take widel and rat fever test we r waiting for result kindly explain the symtoms of rat fever

The symptoms of rat fever are high fever, severe muscle pain, red eyes, stomach pain, jaundice. The test for rat fever normally done is Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) which can be falsely positive. So even if it is positive, if your child has not played in puddles or been near rats urine and does not have muscle pain/red eyes, it is very unlikely to be rat fever.
Widal test is done for typhoid, it is best done in the second week of illness. If it comes >1 :160 positive, there is a good chance that it is typhoid.
I would suggest you not to give cold towel wiping as that will cause a lot of discomfort to the child and reduces only the surface temperature. Continue with paracetamol as prescribed by your doctor.
