Can Falling Down A Flight Of Steps Cause Fever?

My 18 month old son fell down a flight of steps hitting his head, he seemed fine. He woke up in the am with a slight fever and sleep more than usual throughout the day. Hi fever increased significantly throughout the night and he I really hot now. No other symptoms, he has a rise on his forehead where he hi his head when he fell.

I would suggest you take the child to emergency immediately. There is a possibility that in his fall he may have sustained some bleeding inside the skull, commonly called as intracranial hemorrhage.

This condition can sometimes be associated with fever. So I would suggest a MRI/CT scan of the head urgently.

There may be other causes, but this differential diagnosis needs quickest intervention
