Can Exercise Help To Cure Pain Due To Disc Prolapse?

hello

I am 39 years old male from Indian working in Kuwait as Manager Administration having pain pn my lower back due to L3-L4 disc herniation or disc prolapse. Suggest me some excercise or course or action. My Neuro surgeon has suggested my to go for surgery. According to him there is no other solution.
