Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
I understand your concern. The stomach wash might have removed some of the tablets. Cod liver oil contains Vitamin A and D in addition to the omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids can increase the bleeding time. There is no antidote and supportive measures are available if there is any bleeding. The doctor may want to keep him under observation.
The toxic levels of vitamin A and D are very high and he is unlikely to get any side effects due to the same.
I wish him good health and hope he will be discharged without any problem.
Take care
Dr. Noble Zachariah
