Can Excessive Alcohol Consumption Cause Liver Damage?

Hello, I had been drinking a lot especially over the last year. I saw it was becoming a problem and I decided I needed to stop. Since January 1st I have only had maybe 5 glasses of wine total and I haven t had anything at all in the last 6 weeks but I started to get this pain in my liver area after I quit that I thought would be gone by now but it is still there. How long does it normally take for this to go away?

Hello,

Excessive alcohol definitely harms your liver and cause life-threatening problems like cirrhosis. Better to quit alcohol before it takes your life.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
