Can Endometrium Biopsy And Cervical Biopsy Be Done Under General Anesthesia?

I was wondering if it s possible to have an endometrium biopsy or cervical biopsy under general anesthesia since they both are very painful procedures ? If your primary doctor is referring you to a gynecologist then could your doctor reccommend that they put you under general anesthesia before the procedure ?

Hello, I understand your concern.
First of all cervical or endometrial biopsy can be done under local or general anesthesia both. Local anesthesia will desensitize your endometrial and cervical area only while general anesthesia will completely anesthetize your whole body. But one thing general anesthesia is one step above the local so it has its side effects also. Regarding pain, I dont think that the procedure will have unbearable pain unless some unusual things occurs.
My advice is that let your doctor decide which mode of anesthesia will be better for you. Till then stay calm and stay blessed.
