Can Empty Sella Syndrome Cause Difficulty In Reducing Weight?

hi, i have intracranial hypertension and have just been diagnosed with empty sella syndrome as well, can this cause me do have difficulty in losing weight as i have been following a diet and i have not lost any weight, which i need to do to help with my intracranial hypertension

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and diagnoses.

Your inability to lose weight is not on account of empty sella syndrome.

Empty sella syndrome may be seen in normal people, however, it may be a marker of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (increased CSF pressure) as in your case.

I agree with you that weight loss would help in improvement of intracranial hypertension.

You should persist with diet control and regular exercises to lose weight.
