Can Drops Of Varisi In The Eyes Cause Harm?

I woke up in the middle of the night and reached over to get my eye drops and instead grabbed Varisi and right as I was putting it in my eye it dawned on me it wasn t my eye drops! I immediately started rinsing out my eye with water and then I ve been putting my EYE drops (restore dual) drops in my eye. I m scared of what can happen. Varisi s contents are distilled water, citrus extractives, ascorbic acid, and glycerin. Am I in danger?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Ear drops can cause irritation in the eyes but probably won't do anything worse than that. Rust remover is a special case; it can actually penetrate the eye and cause damage from the inside. See your ophthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
