ive suffered some family trauma and although im not usually a big drinker almost teetotal,in the last 3 months ive been drinking heavily every day excessive amounts,the last week or 2 ive been drinking alot of red wine,could that be the reason my stools are very black or could it be something more serious?
Drinking is known to lead to gastric irritation which may lead to small amount of bleeding. This bleeding leads to blackening of stools.
