Can Dextrose Cause Swelling And Redness On Face And Neck?

Hi my child has had a reaction to something I'm not sure what but on the 2 days it happened her face, neck and swelled and went red I noticed there was dextrose in the bread I used on them 2 days is it possible this could of caused it as the dextrose is not in the bread I normally buy

Hi,

Yes, it could be possible that she might have allergy to dextrose. Please bare in mind to avoid giving her dextrose orally or intravenous if she would need in future.

However, you should keep an eye to other foods and drinks for possible allergic reaction.

You can give an anti-histamine drug to her.
