Can Developing Excess Bony Material At End Of Tailbone Be Removed?
My 95 year old mother seems to be developing excess bony material at the end of her tailbone. She take calcium, actonel and D3. There is currently a knob there that protrudes maybe 3/8ths of and inch. She has been non 5-10 mg of prednisone for over ten years and her skin is thin. The protrusion causes pain and sometimes creates sores and skin tears. Can the excess material be removed? If this is common, is there other more routine courses of action?
