Can Cough Be The Symptom Of Strep A?

Can you explain symptoms of Strep A in children for all parents. My child had a cough- no sore throat- sent home for virus....two months later Rheumatic Fever wtih Sydenham's Chorea....she had Strep A in Jan. and she is still has SC...not in school. Parents need to know about Strep A and to ask for strep tests more.....I think the push in the early 2000s contributed to my daughter not getting diagnosed with strep.
