Can Contraceptive Pill, Metformin And Biotin Cause Ankle Swelling And Knee Pain?
I have pcos and manage to lose sixty pds with diet, walking and birth control and biotin. After miscarriage at the three month mark I had over indulged and gain back all the pounds plus fifteen. I have restarted birth control and biotin and occasionally I take the metformin. However the three mixed together makes me nauseous, tired and light headed. My problem is my ankles have started to swell, my knees are aching and I feel constantly swollen, all over. Like walking in a puff. My left eye has a tendency to bulge and pulsate. It s hard to get out of bed at 215 pds 5 2. I m constantly in a state of drowsiness or bottomless hunger. Please help.
Contraceptive pills can cause swelling of legs or edema due to water retention. Other causes of edema such as liver of kidney dysfunction should also be ruled out. You can consider taking the 3 drugs after food and also at different times of the day to avoid nausea.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
