I have had a history of acid reflux. Lately, it seems to be reestablishing itself as I have had several attacks in the past week. I have had a recent esophagram ( no results yet) and am due for an upper endoscopy in 2 weeks. These are being done thru the local VA medical center. I hope these tests will provide some answers. However ,my immediate concern is that I have had 2 pretty bad attacks just recently--one being last night. Along with the terrible taste, I experience difficulty in breathing and coughing and I have to get rid of a lot of clear fluid. This part usually takes @an hour. Last night, the coughing and bringing up the fluid included sinus drainage and caused some chest pain-which I still feel 12 hours later. So, my question is--did I get a coincidental onset of a cold or bronchitis along with the reflux? Should I call the VA and ask for a chest xray--the cough is not steady but it is persisitent and causes chest discomfort--I am a 62 yr old male--have high blood pressure and cholestrol problems. with a pres
