Can Chronic Leukemia Be Inherited?

My maternal grandmother and mother both had/have chronic Leukemia. What are my chances of deleveloping this- in a general percentile? 50/50 or worse? I don't know of any others in our family who had it, but we didn't keep in touch with many of my grandma's siblings, etc.

Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit. Let me guide you in this case. As you have not mentioned that your mother and grandmother suffered from which type of leukamia so i can not say certainly that whether you will get it or not. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a more common type of leukemia found in adults and Approximately 10% of individuals with CLL report a family history of CLL.
IF you have any more queries feel free to ask
