Can Chicken Bone Cause Any Serious Damage?

I believe I have a chicken bone lodged about the middle of my chest area. There is mild pressure but no real discomfort. I have been looking online about what I should do and it ranges from Go to the ER right now and Chicken can cause serious damage in the stomach to Don t worry about it . What is the truth??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

In most cases, it will pass to the stomach and get excreted through feces. If it is stuck somewhere in the food pipe, it must be removed.

You consult a general practitioner and plan for an X-ray to check whether the bone stuck in the food pipe or not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
