Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
today I ve been having a frequent bowel motion, about eight time and I m a bit worried of what could be the cause , could you please give me some explanations. lately I ve been eating celery salad every morning could this be the cause? with regard Ruth
Celery is a vegetable and it contains fiber, namely it contains 1.6 grams of fiber per 100 grams. This is a fair amount. It also contains a high amount of water, thus increasing the bowel motion. The fact that you have been eating it in the morning, makes it even more effective. Eight times a day is considered very frequent for bowel movements, and from your question it is not clear what the consistence of the stool is. I recommend you stop eating the salad for a few days and see if there is any change in the bowel movement frequency. In that case, you can continue consuming the salad during lunch or dinner, rather than breakfast.
All the best
