Hi,

Small vessel vasculitis is usually caused by:

- direct injury to the blood vessel wall by bacteria or viruses
- Indirect injury to blood vessels by activation of antibodies
- Indirect injury to blood vessels through activation of complement, a group of proteins in the blood and tissue fluids that attack infection and foreign bodies.to confirm the diagnosis of vasculitis you need to do a biopsy of skin.

Thorough history and examination are essential to determine if symptoms and signs are confined to the skin, or if there may be systemic involvement, and to determine a cause. If an underlying cause is found, treat it. if you have pain use NSAIDs for pain (if you are not allergic of them).

Protect and apply emillients for fragile skin from injury.Treat secondary bacterial infection, you can use corticosteroids like prednizolon 25-50 mg a day, tapered them for 2-3 weeks. If your body has created antibody against bedbugs and antibodiies damage blood vessel wall maybe the vasculitis is caused from them, difficult to say it.

Hope I have answered your query. Ask me if you have more question.

Regards,
Dr. Ardiana Sinani
