Can Anyone Give Clarity About My Life Expectancy After Having Heart Surgery?

Hi I am 49 years old male and was in good health, I found out in January that I had a bicuspid aorta valve and severe regurgitation and an Aneurism dilation (4.5 cm) of the Aorta root and ascending aorta..Late February 2014 I had a my operation to have a replacement aortic root and ascending aorta and a 25 mm ATS medical mechanical composite valve and graph. My health in all other ways was perfect. My big question is around my life expectancy as I am only 49 years old. Studies seem to say 10 to 15 year mainly but they are not clear and others seem longer. Can anybody give any clarity?

Dear Sir,

If you have no heart failure, your heart is not enlarged and have good ejection function, then you have good life expectancy. If there will be no complications, you can have life expectancy more than 20 years. We have patients, who live even more than 30 years.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
