I am a PA that did a physical on a healthy 16 yom. LFT was completely normal with exception of Alkaline Phosphatase at 329 (48-230). PE was for an Entrance Treatment Facility for abuse of cough syrup. Is that elevation something that could be consider normal for age?
Alkaline phosphatase is a liver enzyme and can be raised in many conditions. It is not normal for age but mild increase is usually acceptable if other tests are normal for you.
