Can Anxiety Cause Excessive Amount Of Adrenaline?

I am 22 years old. I've played sports my entire life. Anxiety rally does run in my family a lot. I was diagnosed with lone afib myself.. A cardiologist told me when you have anxiety there is excessive amount of adrenaline and that the adrenaline can over excite the atrial causing afib.. Opinion???

Hello,

your cardioligict is right about the release of adrenaline and this in excess amount can cause AF.

Anxiety is a natural normal response in case of fight/ fear etc like condition to prevent one self. it is set by the nature in us. So, in conditions like pain attack or extreme anxeity- there is naturally going to be lot of secretion of adrenaline --> leading to stress on heart and may give rise to AF in a compromised one.
