Can An Used Insulin Syringe Cause Sore Throat And Flu Symptoms?

I stuck myself with a used insulin syringe giving a dog an injection last Saturday. On Monday I became ill with a sore throat and have had flu symptoms all week. I have a cough, congestion, teary eyes, runny nose, fever and generally no energy. Does the stick have anything to do with my symptoms or is it most likely just a very bad cold or flu?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
This is a bad cold / flu.
Nothing to do with the syringe.
Get a proper treatment and you will be fine.
But never put such things in mouth.
