Can An Inflamed Upper Thigh Without Any Rash Indicate Signs Of Shingles?

Hi for the last two days I have had a burning feeling in my upper thigh area and it feels like shingles too me is this possible. There is no rash present at the moment but it hurt to the touch. I have had shingles at least 12 times in my life already and this feels just like them, but the others were either on my belly or under my breast area

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It might be the beginning of shingles symptoms. I recommend using painkillers such as Ibuprofen three times a day.

If the rash appears and shingles is confirmed I suggest using antiviral medication such as Avcyclovir. I also recommend using Acyclovir ointment for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
