Can An Increased Dosage Of Hydroxizine Be Taken For Chronic Urticaria Along With Zyrtec?

I have chronic urticaria. My doctor feels it is from autoimmune thyroid disease. I am currently taking 4-25mg tabs hydroxizine per day along with with 2 Zyrtec. I have broken out quite bad this evening. I also took one Benadryl allergy. Can I take more hydroxizine?

I am so sorry to hear about urticaria and the bad flare up you have had this evening. the maximum recommended dose of hydroxyzine is 100mg/day and you are already taking that.i will not suggest that you take any more of it, Besides, the risk of increased side effects is real. Also, this may need evaluation and management which may not necessarily be another drug in the same family. please, consider getting this checked out for best results.
