Can Alteration Of Udiliv-3000 And Epilex-300 Dosage Be Determined Through A Blood Test With Bilirubin And Liver Enzyme Levels?
hi. in my blood report it is found that serum bilirubin: total = 1, direct = 0.2, indirect = 0.8 and sgpt/alt =86. Dr. advised to use udiliv 3000 once a day. i am also using epilex 300. more diagnosis is necessary or not? it will be better?
Based on the given blood test report, you seem to have developed some sort of liver injury caused by the anti-epileptic medication Epilex.
Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, yellowish discoloration of skin and mucosa and abnormal liver function tests like SGPT/ALT are the common side effects of Epilex.
For the prevention of further damage I would advice you to continue Udiliv or L Carnitidine tablets and continue taking Epilex.
However, if you develop the side effects as mentioned above then you should stop taking Epilex and consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but a safer drug to control your fits/seizures.
Hope this will help.
