Can Allergy Cause Cough, Runny Nose And Fever In A Child?

My daughter has had a cough for over a month. We have been to the doctor twice, and seen two different doctors. Both doctors told me it was allergies. Now she is worse with more symptoms. Now she has cough, severe congestion, severe running nose, and slight fevers. And for the last 2 days she has complained over and over that her tongue and roof of her mouth is freezing cold. I don’t believe this is allergies, she is 12 years old and has never had a problem with allergies. I’ve been giving her everything the doctor prescribes and she is only worse. Any help is deeply appreciated, Thank you.

Hello
The symptoms you nicely described indeed indicative of allergic respiratory illness. But duration of cough lasting for more than a month need more detailed history and physical examination. The further finding in history and physical exam will direct further investigations if needed any. The severity of symptoms and underlying cause will decide further management. I would like to suggest you keep child away from dust, insects, pests and pollens, cold.
