Can Allergies Cause Cough And Chest Congestion?
I have a cough with mucous. I believe that the mucous is clear. I have also been blowing my nose a lot as well. I feel well otherwise. Last week I was coughing more at night when laying in bed. I have been taking Nyquil which has been working well. I am continuing to work out at the gym and I haven t had any shortness of breath. Do you believe that this is allergies or another condition?

It is good to know you are working out in the gym and no shortness of breath, which rules out many conditions of the lungs, so relax, the cough and mucous may be due to minor infection of the respiratory tract.
This infection can be cured by taking facial steam for short duration daily and NyQuil which you are taking, which will also reduce the allergic rhinitis if there is any, the cough at night during sleeping is due to the movement of mucous, which will get reduced once the infection is reduced.

Allergy is the most common cause of cough and chest congestion in routine scenario. Adequate care with use of face mask, decongestant, tincture Benzoin inhalation added in boiled water will support great.
