Can A Swallowed Chicken Bone Puncture The Stomach Or Intestines?

I believe my son swallowed pieces of chicken bone when eating a chicken thigh. He vomited immediately afterward and then, again, about a half hour later. He has had no symptoms since that time but should I be worried that the bone could puncture his stomach or intestines and the acids or excrement could escape and poison him?

Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Presence of bone piece in his gut is not good. During vomiting most of the stomach comes out, even bone piece if swallowed would have come out. But rare chances of bone still present in place, which needs to be examined and if presents needs treatment.

Regards
