Can A Rheumatic Fever Cause Infertility?

Hi my name is Danielle.. And I am 15 years old.. Two summers ago I woke up with a sore throat and all I did was take a tylonal... By the time it wore off I was fine. A few weeks later I notices my knee was swollen and I could barely walk on it.. It progressed to the point that I was walking around my house with a walker and my mom was putting me to bed every night.. A month later we found out I had rheumatic fever.. I was wondering if it can cause infertility? Thanks.(:

Hello,

Rheumatic fever may not cause of infertility. Don't worry. It may affect joints, heart endocardium. But please check your ASO titer and take pain killer with antibiotics. Follow with your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
