Hi
If the pulmonary embolism was due to deep vein thrombosis in lower limbs , then the person needs anticoagulation for atleast one year . Till the time he is on anticoagulation and repeat venous doppler are with in normal limits , he should stay away from massage .

What kind of massage and where actually would you like to give massage. Massage is usually advocated to prevent a pulmonary embolism.

if a patient is bed ridden for long time, there are achances that patient could develop pulmonary embolism.
