Hi i have a lump on my groin area, i gathered it was just an ingrown hair so i grabbed my tweezers and put a hole in it (due to it hurts to touch) and as soon as i put a hole in it a lot of yellow pus came out so i wiped it with toilet paper and sqeezed more until it was just blood coming out, there is a black bit there as well could this be a boil
Hello Thanks for the query to HCM Forum. According to your history quoted in query , it seems that this may be ingrown hair abscess or boil ( medically different things but layman terms same ) . The causative organism may be bacteria ( usually streptococcus or staphylococcus ) . Yellow pus is characteristic feature of bacterial infection. In such type of boils ( skin infection ) usually broad spectrum antibiotics ( ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice in a day ) and anti inflammatory drugs are most effective. Treatment is only 5-7 days ,but if not respond then you must consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck.
