Can A Large Uterus Fibroid Be Removed Through Laparoscopic Surgery?

Hello, I am a 50 year old female that has recently been scheduled for a hysterectomy. I have had problems with fibroids for many years and now have the equivalent of a 5-6 month fetus living in there. My doctor told me my uterus is 10 times the size it should be so a full abdominal cut hysterectomy is my only option. I have to be honest, the thought of major surgery scares me to death which is why I put it off this long, and hoping I might go through menopause also. I guess my question is, is this the only option I have? I was hoping for the less invasive laporascopic surgery but I was told this was not an option due to the size. Also, is this a relatively safe surgery for someone that is otherwise healthy?

Hii
Thanks for posting on health magic
As you fear major surgery, you might opt for medical treatment to shrink the size of fibroid and then go for lap removal if it is lumina fibroid
If it is serosal or intramural then open surgery is only better option
Thanks
