Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Kidney stones either require medical treatment or surgical treatment. Which treatment doctor is going to choose depends on the size of the kidney stone. Now your relative has kidney stone of 11 mm which is quite a big size. There are medicines available which break down the stone and then it automatically comes out while passing urine. So, I suggest you to ask your health care provider about this. If this treatment fails, then surgery would be the last option for your relative.

All the best.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
