Can A Hiatal Hernia Cause Death?

Can a Hiatal Hernia kill you ? and if so how lo0ng should you wait until you get it fixed ?I have one and no one wants to doing anything about it . It has gotten to the point that I don t want to eat cause every time I do it about kills me with the pain I can feel my guts roll .

Thanks for your query.
What an unique query. Noted your problem of severe pain on eating that makes your guts roll and feel like you will be killed.
No one is ever killed or dead due to hiatus hernia, but your problem is so severe hence I would advise you the following:
- First of all consult your Doctor and get started with a PPI, like Omeprazole, Antacid and motility regulator and get an appointment for Gastroenterologist for Upper GI Endoscopy.
Barium swallow and
CT scan of the chest for mediastinal study to rule out cancer or so.
This will give you relief, proper diagnosis and further treatment as may be indicated by the investigations.
