Can A Hernia Patient Conceive Naturally After 4 Consecutive Surgeries?
I have had 4 laperotomys including one with an ileostomy and one for the reversal. I ve had my fourth back in January for post operative hernias. My partner and I are trying to conceive but nothing is happening. I ve used ovulation sticks and they have said that I am ovulating. My partner smokes A LOT of wacky backy but he s had a child before who passed away. Him and his partner at the time both smoked a lot but still conceived so I think it s me.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Yes, these intraabdominal surgeries could have caused certain difficulties with concevieing since fallopian tubes and ovaries may have been pressed with such adhesions. It would be good to do mRI scan or laparoscopic exploration if there wont be success in next 12 months. Another option is in vitro fertilization which should be discussed with your gynaecologist. Also, your partner should be tested for fertility issues including STDs.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
