General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Lesly,

I understand your concern. You should know that birth control pills work only if you have been taking them regularly for a month before the unprotected sexual intercourse. So if you took a normal contraceptive, it has no effect in your case. Instead, if you took a 'morning-after' pill, it should have a 75% effect ratio in interrupting the pregnancy.
I recommend you to do a pregnancy test, so as to be sure if you are pregnant or not.
Then you should discuss with a gynecologist for further options.
I hope I have helped you somewhat to understand your condition.
Wish you good luck!
