Can A Back Pain Be Related To Muscle Or Nerve Problem?

Hi Doc, My wife is suffering from back ache. The pain is concentrated towards the right lower back. After consulting 2 Ortho specialists, and 2 separate MRIs of spine and hip, it was concluded that the pain is not due to spine problem. There is a slight slip disc, but the pain is not proportion to the slip (as per Docs). Even simple touch of the muscle for applying pain relief gel is very painful for her. She has been taking mobizox 2 a day & Nurokind G (1 at night), but not much relief. Could it be some muscle problem or nerve related? Does any muscle relaxing drug would help her?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Condition of fibromyalgia should be ruled out. In case of fibtomyalgia antidepressants like amitryptilline will be helpful.Muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine may be helpful in your wife's problem. Physiotherapy and massage along with this may help to get better and attain good pain relief. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
