Can Zolpidem Be Taken After Three Hours Of Acetaminophen Intake?

I am currently taking hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/325. is it safe to take zolpidem er 6.5 mg at bedtime three hours after the hydrocodone? I am scheduled for a mid foot fusion procedure next Tuesday at Memorial General Hospital in Hollywood, Fl and my foot hurts and I am having trouble sleeping. I want to know if mixing these 2 meds, albeit 3 hours apart, is safe. I currently weigh 207 lbs.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If needed the two drugs can be used at same time as there is no significant interaction between the two however when the two drugs (anxiolytic and opiods) are used at same time there may be slight more drowsiness as both of them can causes drowsiness, but mostly this is not a great concern.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
