Hi Dr Rynne, I have suffered very bad premenstal symptoms all my life and feel I am also depressed and experiencing anxiety at the moment. Once I tried taking cipromil, however it made me feel very dizzy and I experienced bad headaches. A relative of mine suffered from depression and said she took Zoloft for a while which seemed to help her. I was thinking of asking my Dr to prescribe Zoloft? However I was wondering if I would have the same side effects as I did on the Cipromil?
Yes, you can take tab. Zoloft once daily for 1 week and see if you are comfortable or have any side effects. The following are few frequently encountered side effects with Zoloft: - Nausea - Diarrhea / loose stools - Insomnia - Dry mouth - Fatigue - Dizziness - Somnolence
In most of the people, the side effects are tolerable and they get used to with time. So you can try once. If you get adjusted, you can increase the dose to 50 mg twice daily.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
