I have been having difficulty sleeping for the last week. My doctor switched my antidepressant from Effexor to Wellbutrin. I was switched back to the Effexor on Aturday because I felt jittery and amped. When I go to lie down to sleep, my mind races and I can't sleep. I'm getting about 2 hours of sleep and am a mess. I went to my doctor today and she prescribed me Vistaril 25-50mg and Xanax 0.25 mg. I only got the vistaril because I am afraid of the addictive potential of Xanax, but she told me with the state that I'm in, that I need it and will not develop an addiction taking it when needed, so she prescribed me the vistaril to try. I would like to know if when I try the Vistaril, if it doesn't t work, will it be okay to take the Xanax?
