Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is it okay to take 1 Tylenol 325 mg tablet with 0.5mg tablet of lorazepam? My grandmother fell on her knees so she took the Tylenol. Because she was upset her anxiety set in causing her tell-tale twitch. May she now take her 1/2 tablet (1 tablet is 1mg, her dose is 1/2 a tablet twice a day prn for anxiety) of lorazepam?
Hi & Welcome. I appreciate your concern for your beloved grandma. Yes, Tylenol can be taken along with Lorazepam.
Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is commonly prescribed for mild to moderate pain such as headache, body ache, joint pains, etc.
Lorazepam (benzodiazepine) is prescribed for insomnia, short term treatment of anxiety, panic attack, etc.
There's no harmful interaction between these two medications hence can be given safely. However, since Lorazepam is known to cause drowsiness & motor incoordination which may result in falls and related injuries, so she needs to be looked after.
Also she needs to be examined by a doctor for the trauma she sustained on her knees.
Hope I could answer your query. A feed back is appreciated.
